Forecasting New England weather is a challenge. We get it all from snow filled Nor’easters to tornadoes, heat waves to land falling hurricanes. The key to understanding how the topography and the Atlantic ocean play into the evolution of storms is experience and that takes years. Hopefully some of these links will help you track down a forecast or make your own. My biggest forecast challenge came early on in my career when straight-line winds claimed several lives in coastal New Hampshire the day before Hurricane Bob hit. It was a sobering reminder of how forecasts can save lives.
